Funny My thoughts on sexing Plecostomus.

I have two Plecostomus and I have scientifically decided that one is male and one is female. They are each in 55 gallon tanks that are similar in deco and just have different tank mates. The one is constantly moving stuff around and up rooting the plants and the other one never moves anything. I decided the one that is constantly moving stuff around has to be female because that is what my wife does. Never happy with where something is for long and has to find it a new place to sit. The other one has to be male because he is more like me, happy with where the furniture is and hates it being moved because I end up stubbing my toes in the night when it is moved. Plus I swear the male Pleco has a TV remote control in this hiding log.

I think you might have it backwards. The busy one is the male, and he is looking for things because he just put it somewhere to get it out of the way and forgot where he put it, and in fact he is convinced he didn't even move it. He just KNOWS that female jumped into his tank and hid his thing from him. So he has to tear the tank apart because he NEEDS IT RIGHT NOW OMG HAVE YOU SEEN MY THING WHERE DID YOU PUT MY THINNNNNNNNNNNG!??!?!?!?!

Dang snapper now you have me confused again because I have been there done that. LOL If I ever misplace something all I have to is ask my wife if she has seen it. If she replies: Haven’t seen it, I look in her junk drawer because she puts everything there and then sits back and watches me look for it.
