the last time I checked nitrate was 2 weeks ago @15ppm .I need more nitrate chem ran out last on last check.I also did let the water from tap set overnight to check ph .

Don't use an old outdated test kit .That's what I did since I had the tank .
All though my fish sam happy .havent had 1 die yet .Guess il have to do more frequent water changes .Like every day .
I bought a new API test kit today ,thus is what I come up with .My bad for not looking at the date .
today after 50% water change
I checked it twice to make sure ,Let bottles set for 10 minutes too.I was a bit surprised to see the difference between old test kit & new test kit .
Look at the dates on the box if you get it from someone .lol

Looks like your cycle is setting itself up nicely. I'd say 50% WC daily until the nitrite level drops.

Is your tank cycling? That's a lot of nitrites.

Yes tank been cycling for weeks now .Guess ill do water changes every day till it settles down to normal .
Fish all I'n it too .thought it was cycled from my old test kit ,Guess not according to the new kit .But my fish are happy and eat real good too.
I do clean the sand when I change date rout too .

I figured out the problem of my readings I think .2 water changes ago I cleaned my 2 hob 400s ,but not the bio wheels .Just the box real good .Could this be my problem why my readings are off?
I didn't touch my fluvial 405 at all
