Here are my SPS corals.

These are two small Red MontI Cap's. The photo really doesn't show it's true red color.

This is a green table acro. It was very bleached and brown when I bought it. It is recovering just fine now ! ;D

52.jpg

Last is a purple acro I bought two weeks ago. It's still needs more time to get it's color back. It's still very brown.

Yeah ... That one of my many Aiptasia anemones ... I tried a peppermint shrimp to get rid of them (natural approach) ... Didn't work. Tried Aiptasia control yesterday. Kills all the ones you can reach ! ;D
I do still have a GBTA. I will post new photos of my tank tonight. My rose anemone died a few week ago.

sorry about your anenome

Me too ! It hid behind the rocks where I couldn't feed it anymore. I was hoping it would move back to the front of the tank ... it didn't !

I think I was told that corals and anemone wouldn't live happily together in the same tank.. but is that not true? I want anemone for maroon clowns but would love some of those corals.. I also have read conflicting information on whether or not I could stock more than 2 clowns in 1 tank.. what do you say agsansoo?

that's a shame about your rose anemone :'(.. they're beauties.

A Bubble Tip Anemone (BTA) is pretty reef safe, because they seem to stay put once they find they're happy spot in the tank. More than two clown in one tank is possible, if conditions are right. Large tank with multiple anemones. A clown fish that is hosting an anemone rarely strays away too long from his turf (anemone). So clowns living on oppsite sides on a tank is doable (out of sight - out of mind). Though not recommended.

I was sad about the rose anemone, but not surprised. He was a rescue anemone from the start. I had no idea my female clown would be so rough on him. Next rose I get, I will place him in my refugium for a while before exposing him to my maroon clowns !

thanks for the info.. I think if we do a Saltwater tank out of the 30 gallon tall, 1 pair of clowns would be it then. and you'd recommend a refugium for anemone to go in before they go out into the main part of the tank?

Only if the anemone is bleached (weak & stressed). I should have QT'ed the anemone until it colored up again. A good rule to follow is, buy anemone first than introduce clown fish to a tank. Though everybody does it the other way around. LOL Me included.

The stag on the left is absolutely beautiful in person. It has a blue base and stems. This is a frag of the exact coral on the Warner Marine ReefPure Ultimate Aminos bottles.

That's a good question. LOL I have no cue. My friend gave me that coral and the green one to the right. I guess I'm going to have to look them up.

The coral in the bottom middle is my first acro that's grown from a 1/2" frag to a big 3" frag. LOL (first coral to be moved off the frag rack). It's CalI Tort.

Yea it's a red montI cap. It's one of the first sps corals I purchased over a year ago. I want one on each end of the tank. This one has grown the fastest. The other montI cap I stuck on the bottom of my tank didn't grow as well.

Thanks Hypnox. It's a whole lot of trial and error. Some corals do great and some RTN for no reason at all. All and all it's both fun and challenging.

Great lookin montI with some nice growth tips along the edges. My green montis are really taking off too. Montis are some of the fastest growing corals I've kept thus far, even faster than the acros it seems. After reading your posts on the octopus skimmer I got into researching them and picked up an octopus 800s skimmer (hob type). It's a monster. I'll put up a review in the coming weeks on it. Very impressed with it so far.

Thanks,
Mike
