Hii this is my Half Moon Betta his name is Caddy, I got him in February of 2021 he is very special and I love him very much.

Recently he has problem swimming, I see that the scales are growing more over top of his left eye and just notice a fuzz on his tail.

I have been changing his water every 3 day to help with his fin rot that he has been dealing with for the last month.
I'm wondering if there any way I can get him better.

How is he acting and eating? I would try 50% water changes every 3 days and maybe add a bit of aquarium salt to help with that finrot. That fuzz almost looks like some floating debris he caught on his tail. If not than probably a fungus.

He sleeps alot on his side alot and sometimes sleeps vertical his head points down to the bottom. when he's awake hes having trouble going down and then sometimes he swims fine. When I feed him he keep missing his food until pretty much hand feed him.

Hmmm possible swim bladder issues. Can't tell if bloated in any of the pics, but i would try fasting for 3 days. Might help that.

Update I added 1tbsp of aquarium salt last night and today he is not looking. Well the fin is still fuzzy he is lethargic and I noticed his scales are starting to pine cone. What can I do to help my poor guy survive? I have his water change scheduled for tmrw. Idk how he could've gotten sick I've been doing frequent water changes the last few months to help with his fins and swim bladder so I thought that he would get better.

If he starting to pinecone, epsom salt dips for about 15 mins a day and put kanaplex or a med like that in the tank can help. Sounds like dropsy with the pineconing.

Can you use kanaplex with the aquarium salt in the tank as well? And is it safe to do the Epsom salt baths with the salt and kanaplex in his tank

Not sure on aquarium salt mixed with the kanaplex. Epsom salts you do in a seperate container for about 15 mins or so. Not sure on the ratio, should be easy to find.

Romel is at work rn and has no internet that’s why I’m asking all these questions (I’m his gf), so we already dosed his home aquarium 5g with 1tbsp of aquarium salt. Do you recommend also doing the epsom slt baths? Would we have to use his tank water for the bath ?? Like take a gallon out and dose it with the epsom salt aswell and then put him back into his home aquarium that’s still dosed with aquarium salt?

Might be the easiest way.
