My shubunken have discolored/white patches

HI all
I was searching for help for my fish and I found this forum

I bought 3 shubunken fish from a local pet store , they had white patches but I thought this is normal for shubunkens

one of them died "the most patched one"
before dying he would spit food very often

now one of my 2 remaining fish is having a white patch on its side // which was there from the beginning but I didn't notice it
and it started spitting food and I think the poop is very stringy and white

I went to another pet store and showed him the pictures of the fish and he gave me a blue solution medication called "ichito" I think
told me to put 6 drops a day for 2 days then change water , then 6 drops a day for another 2 days

after those 4 days , my fish looked better for a day then started spitting food again today

I need help fast please / an is posted

It would help if you posted your water parameters, tank size, and tank mates. In my experience, young goldfish, especially the not-show-quality ones can change colors frequently.

Anyway, water parameters and tank size will help to figure out what's going on. If not for me, then for other people who read this thread.

HI Amoos and welcome. oOBlueOo has a point. It may be a water quality issue but if it is a fungus-I don't see that judging by your picture. Kanaplex is my medication of choice. Since you have already treated your fish, and since you see improvement, is it possibly improving?
Ichiro treats fungus as well but I know nothing about dosage or how long it can be used.

ok , it's a fish bowl about 27 galon
length unit in my country is cm , so I measured the
[h=3]Length of circumference it was 90 cm
some conversions and I found it is 27 gallons
3/4 of the bowl is water
colored gravel in the bottom and 3 shells + water filter
the bowl contains 2 shubunkens / I think the orange is female

Goldfish generally require a lot of space because they are famous for being messy. They produce a lot of waste and eventually poison themselves if the waste builds up. If you could upgrade to a pond type setting, that would be ideal.

If that's not possible, could you look into getting a larger tank?
Another option is to rehome them.

If none of those options are possible, I suggest doing daily 50% water changes. You may have to do more that just 50%.
Maybe someone else can help with solutions. This is just my 2 cents.

I second kanaplex. You can either add it to the water or to food. I dose the water because mixing with food requires purchasing a binding agent and I didn't feel like driving three hours just to buy it.

Stringy white pop can be stress, parasites...among other things.

What are they being fed? Goldfish like veggies instead if flakes or pellets all the time.
Sorry I can't be I more help.

Hi, I read that the medication is for ich/ick but I do not see this in your pictures. Ick looks like salt has been sprinkled on your fish. Ick also needs warmer temps while fungus needs cooler temps.
Goldfish hate heat while they love very cool water. Is it possible that your water is too warm for them-about 65 is what I kept mine at and I found they liked that temp and did well.
If they have a parasite-not eating/stringy poop and other problems-the medication you have won't work for that.

Here is a link that tells problems and what to do.

Try and do two 50% water changes-one in the middle of the week and one at the end. That way there is not as drastic a change in the water conditions as this can be hard on your fish.
Also, the filtration may not be getting rid of enough of the bad stuff-they do like gentle water but to keep it full of oxygen and cleaning it has to turn over pretty rapidly.
Keep in mind that over filtration is better than under filtering.
Good luck with your babies.

Guys , I still need help

Here's something I found. There's more links to click on for goldfish. Hopefully something helps.

not eating + stringy white pop + white patches / discolored + not active
I will try garlic and 50% water changes twice a week
and I will search for kanaplex

Hello, I would recommend using metrodiazole and praziquantel. To me, it sounds like your fish have parasites which have developed into an internal infection. Kanaplex can be hard on kidneys and cause fish to flash, it would also only address the secondary symptom of infection, not the possibility of internal parasites. Best of luck.
