My Pineapple Swordtail Is Showing No Interest Whatsoever In My Female Black Swordtail, I Am Unsure W

I have a male pineapple swordtail and a black female swordtail. They seem to be avoiding each other and have had no interest in each other at all since we brought her home to replace the other male we had. Can anyone give me suggestions other than moving them to a separate tank? She spends most of her time with the mollies and he prefers the danios.

They'll breed in no time, don't worry. They aren't constantly pestering each other with breeding, which is actually good for the health of the female. Just give it time.

The male seems depressed since our other male died shortly before we got the female. I was hoping the female would make him perk up some but doesn't seem like it. Should I get another female and see if that helps any? I just don't like him seeming so sad.

having a second or 3rd female would be a good starting pack for breeding

I did that today. I got 1 female pineapple and 1 female red wag which was the same as the male that died. And he has perked up a ton though he is only showing interest in the red wag female which I find odd but at least he is happy again!!
