I know I should have quarantined but I didn’t please don’t get on to me for that.
I bought an Oscar for my fish tank. I know it’s only 10 gallons but I was planning to buy a bigger tank to accommodate him/her.
It was very sickly acting when I got it home. It would hide and wouldn’t want to eat. I figured it would come around in a day or so because of the new tank. I believe it left behind some sort of segment crawling worms or leeches. I’m not sure what they are. I found black ones in the filter and clears like and one red one on the sides of the tank that are out of the water. I believe I saw a bug come out of the filter when I pulled the lid off but I may be mistaken because of my floaters in my eye. I some times mistake them for bugs. I am using some treatment methods as we speak. Jungles cure all stuff. For parasites , fungus etc.
I would like to know what you think they are and how I should treat this mishap.
I have never had worms or leeches in my tank before.
I learned some where you could put some salt in it to help with leeches but I know my cory cats won't like it.

You have a 10gal, with molleys and cory right? 2 species that should not be in a 10gal. Sounds like he had parasites, id treat with prazi. You may want to look into bigger tanks for these fish you have.

Like I said I plan to get a larger tank and giving my mollies to a friend who has a large tank as well.
I'm only keeping my Cory cats. I’m just worried about the parasites. What size tank would you put a Cory in? Would 25 or 30 be enough? Because my Oscar died I don’t need a 75 gallon anymore. Thanks for the prazI suggestion.

Oh and I love your dragons

Cory's just need room to roam the bottom so A 25 or 30 would be fine

Thanks for answering <3 Cory's are my favorite. I hope they survive the parasites.

A 20gal suffices for albinos. I too love my dragons. PrazI should kill them OR if you can move the cory for a few days then you can heat kill them.

I have spotted cory. If I heat kill them what would be a good temprature to do so I am wondering. I most likely will stick with the PrazI because won't they just stick to the cory and get in the tank when I move them back ?

Probably not, however, make sure not to have any open wounds and to wash your hands frequently, a pic of the worms would be nice.
