My New Oscar .

So I was in pet store searching for ideas for stosking my new 55 gallon aquarium when I saw this guy.He was so beautiful I just buought and put it in my empty 10 gallon aquarium(of course not permanetly just for time my parents need to renovate my room(not more than 1 week)so I can get my new 1x0.5x0.4 meter tank in my room.but I have some question first how I get him to eat and not lay in a corner.second is this size of aquarium(55 gallon with that dimension) and 25 gallon sump enough for one oscar.(I know aquariums need time to build beneficial bacteria but can i(because he is still small) use a sand from 10 gallon(2lb) and filter from my 10 gallon aquarium as start for beneficial bacteria for the time till sump makes its own.

Nice oscar! How big is it? 55 gallons is not big enough permanently, but it should do until he reaches 6-8". I'd recommend at least 100 gallons (more is better)

 

Yes but I look lite this he has half a meter of space to swim and techincaly it has 25 gallon of sump

 

Oscars need at least 100 gallons in the long run. They get huge and need plenty of room to swim and turn around.

 

Oscars can reach 15" so 55 gallons is not enough space.

 

Well maube in that time I get bigger aquarium but I don't think that will happen this year

But my main problem is he doesn't eat flakes or pellets
He just sits in corner of aquarium

 

Oscars grow very fast, so the sooner the better. You could end up stunting his growth too. He probably needs some time to settle in. What are your parameters? Is your tank cycled?

 

My tank is cycled and paramaters are right
