Ok guys. Here you see my new denitrifying tower!! It is laced with sulfur particles and this time I used much more filter floss to form the sludge and keep the water clean.

The flow rate starts out faster but it slows as it gets dirty

There is a 50 micron in the middle

Is the water pumped through it or some kind of siphon setup?

It pumps down in a center tube and then upward through everything and in the process it pushes water through the biological media.

Mine is cheaper, aquatop, but your is a better brand. Still its lasted a year. Not the pump though. I use continuum nitrifyx plus filter floss and a tad of 50 micron. You need to adjust your use of floss with the pump size. For denitratifiction you want 10-50 gph. If your aquarium is less than 50. Shoot for the lower end. But I also used denitrate for a while. I strongly recommend continuum bacteria clean F a few times a week or more.

UPDATES! Wow! Dont use as much of this stuff as denitrate please or you won't have enough for plants! I LOVE IT!
