I thought since the little loaches (Botia sidthimunkI or Dwarf Loaches or Chain Loaches) have not had much attention as far as baby pictures go..now that they are in their PERMANENT home I thought I would post some.

I will be adding a Betta and my oldest little Oto (Tuck) in there with them. That Oto is used to being alone and does not want to play with the others and I hope he is going to play with the loaches.

Well here they are.... (I threw in a picture of the front yard..we had snow )

Now that is one sharp looking tank, Rose!  I'll bet the loaches, Tuck, and the Betta will love it there.

Can you believe it, we've had nothing more than a dusting here in MA.  That's supposed to change tomorrow, but not by much.  All thanks to El Nino.

Tank looks beautiful and the loaches are cute! I bet your Betta will love it!

I'm in Toronto, Canada and we have had NO snow at all this winter except a couple days of frost on the grass. Very strange...

We just got a bunch of snow today too. Pretty much our first snow of the year, it's been weird weather.

Beautiful tank and very cute loaches, Rose. The weather here in AZ has actually been very cold here too thanks to El Nino. It's been getting down into the 20's where I live. They were showing some pics on the news yesterday of peoples water fountains that were left on and they had icicles on them.

Smillermom: What part of upstate NY do you live in? I was born and raised in Williamsville NY. My husband lived in West Buffalo. They showed Rochester on the news yesterday too with the big icestorm they had, It looked like the one Buffalo had in October.

Tuck the Oto went into the tank yesterday and I found that the behavior he has had in all the other tanks is going to be the same in this tank...he does not want anything to do with anyone. The loaches did try to get to know him but the little dickens just went into a corner and hid and would not come out. So we did try but he is totally antisocial and I guess that is his choice. We have now tried him with Bettas (Marty, Noel, Azul, Blaze) Otos (Sleepy and Doc) and Loaches (Zippy, Flash, Sid, and Mickey) and I do not know who else to try as the tanks are mostly full. There will be another Betta soon, I hope but if the other Bettas did not meet with his approval, I do not see much hope for this one either.

Well, if Tuck wants to be antisocial then there's nothing you can do. Now he's got a whole 12 gallons to swim around being antisocial in! ;D

A little of subject but...you think that's cold?! It was -15 when I woke up this morning. I wish it would warm up to 20 or so for once ;D

Oh and I was born in NY too...Rochester. I still miss it there. I remember there was a big ice storm there, oh, must have been at least 6 or 8 years ago.

Yes, actually there are 3 of them in there but you cannot see the third in the center of the tank. Here is a picture at night. Unfortunately the computer screen from the other room reflected and made it look like I stuck a postage stamp or two on the tank ...

I happened to find them at Petsmart but I wish I had found them at Drs. Foster and Smith first. They are much cheaper and I do not think that petsmart intends to keep carrying them. They had "Limited Quantities" and must have sold out on a lot of them. I really do prefer shopping at Drs. Foster and Smith as they are the greatest when there is a problem or question. They also have very nice fish...all the loaches came from liveaquaria (a division of Drs. Foster and Smith) and they have a firm overnight delivery and they are VERY well packaged.

O, didn't know they sold them. I think pet supplies plus also sells them. I think I need to invest in some over the summer, I see too many tanks like yours I want them so bad, your tank is an inspiration . I think I'll DIY them though
