Its called a Aqua one 850 165Litre tank.Think its an Australian brand but don't quote me on that.In NZ we use litres so I just used converter on internet to get gallon size.Has an inbuilt filter system on top.Uses bio balls and filter media.Power head at one end and outlet pipe in other end. Also has 3 inbuilt lights (florescent tubes)on top as well.Great for stopping evapouration and jumping fish(the danios)

:-\ITs BIG.Now thinking too big to add to tank. Will displace a lot of water and take up a lot of space. Will it alter my PH too much.Should I just go for it and add it to the tank.Should I wait for the plants to arrive next week before I add it?Opinions anyone.

That is a superb looking driftwood! Wow. Is your tank a bow front? I've got a 980 and it's great. It doesn't have the back of the hood so I've got to be wary of jumpers, but it was an eBay special, so no complaints
I'd go on and put the wood in. It may alter your pH a little, but keep checking it for the next week or so and see how it goes. Your fish will adapt if it's a slow change. I don't see a reason to wait for the plants to go in at the same time either.

Well... if you think it won't fit I'd be happy to take the driftwood off your hands! ;D
Beautiful piece. I have a tendency to not get enough 'height' in my set-ups, which leaves the top half of the tank entirely empty. That driftwood you have would solve that problem

nice tank
I added a pretty large piece of wood to my 75g. and I don't know the ph exactly, but it *had* to have altered it. the snails that were in there had some pretty bad shell damage after it was added. especially the mysteries. so i'm guessing it dropped the ph enough to do that. though before the wood I can tell you it was around 7.2-ish.
but you should go ahead and add it if you want too....just watch ph

You can't have it;D(weighs about 4-5kgs)and would be expensive to ship all the way to your place.I bit the bullet and put it in.Had to re arrange the plants etc and that mucked up the water for a while. On the other hand it looks great.Didnt need to take out as much water as I thought.Mr B(BN Pleco) was all over it checking out his new home even with the lights on last night.Keep you guessing what it look like until I can add all the new live plants arriving next week.Next project is trying my hand at attaching something to driftwood.Been reading up on how to do it.Will do another photo to show difference as soon as I add the plants.

you'll have to post a pic when the water clears up =] that's cute the plec was excited.
are you trying to attach moss or something to it? if so, that's not hard. use cotton thread, or fishing line (though that won't dissolve).

Update
Apologies about the photo quality but only have a web to take picture,so I can't do any close ups of the inmates.Final stock as follows.1 BN Pleco,10 Red Phantom tetras,6 Gold Danios(3Long and 3short finned),16 Neon Tetras(all 16 surviving over two weeks) and latest addition 3 German Blue Rams add 3 days ago.The GBR are only juvies but from same tank stock so are hoping the will still get along when they are adults.Biggest 1 is a male (I think), not sure about the other 2 as their colours are still a bit muted. All quiet on the western front so far.No infighting or aggression.I'm glad I added the driftwood now.

Think plants are growing more than fish.
3 weeks since last photo.Looking better and better.Increased neons to 20,and haven't had any issues like some seem to.Now have 7 gold danios.Added 2 more GBR (now have 5) because they have great colouring and are getting on well as tankmates.Mr B(BN pleco) is thriving and is VERY fat.I think I'm a bit over stocked but doing regular weekly water changes and gravel vacs.Small problem with brown diatoms on plants but trying different light times so no biggie.Anything else I should be doing?:;gift MERRY FISH CHRISTMAS
