Hello C & M...

Nice tank. About 40 gallons, isn't it? Your fancy Goldfish are great pets. They'll live a long time if you don't feed them too much and feed a variety of flakes, freeze dried, and pellet foods. They can get digestive issues, so feed some organic veggies. I feed my Goldfish organic spinach. It's high fiber and very nutritious. Your tank needs some floating plants, like Anacharis, Water sprite or Hornwort. Plants help the fish feel comfortable. Also, you need some bottom plants, like Anubias. You can attach the plants to pieces of driftwood or lava rock with stands of cotton sewing thread. Use cotton thread. These bottom plants will give the fish some things to explore. They need open space to swim, but things to swim around. The most important, is clean water. I change half the water in my Goldfish tanks every week. No excuses.

Thank you, I've had them going on six months now.

yep, I clean the goldfish water twice a week and do a 50% water change.

The tank is quite small for that many goldfish, I’ve got a 40 gallon breeder with two fancy fantails and I can't imagine it having that many goldfish in it. I hope you eventually plan on getting a much bigger tank like a 75 or 120 gallon for all of them once they are full grown beautiful fish though!

They are small now and don’t look crowded to me. just be prepared to upgrade if they get bigger. I’m in the camp that goldfish tank size and stocking can vary based on goldfish size. . But if they start to outgrow it it’s time to upgrade.

Hello.

Just wondering how your goldies are doing. Also curious if you have any problems with your black moor being outcompeted for food by the others since the moors don't see as well and everything.

I'm wondering because I've thought about getting some kind of moor to go with my new oranda so he has a little companion.
