My naughty little Marty Jr. (very blurry due to speed)

I did get some pictures but he will NOT be still for even a couple of seconds so they are so blurry. I almost decided not to post them but he is so cute and I wanted to show his colors so I will but I do not know what to do with him. He does have a mind of his own. I do believe that he is totally spoiled by the folks at Miami Aquariums and has the biggest ego I have ever seen in a fish. He is however the first finger follower that I have ever owned.

He has colors to match his personality. Rich & excellent! Blue & white is such a great combo and his colors are definitely worth sharing. He sounds like a REAL character with his ego & being a finger follower. I'm sure he's going to give you a lot of laughs and stories.

I hope that we'll be able to order the white male HM I want from Miami Aquariums soon - I love how full of personality their Bettas are along with the excellent health they arrive in.

Rose, he is stunning! Definitely grateful that you shared the pictures. He sounds delightful! My Helios follows my finger, too. But his brother doesn't quite grasp the concept.

He's gorgeous! Very unusual coloring. I've never seen a Betta with a dark body and light fins. It's usually the opposite light body dark fins, Cambodian type. Does his coloring have a name or is he a hybrid?

Very nice. I saw a betta like that once but where Marty Jr. has white, it was red. I was so tempted to buy him but didn't.

It reallly is too bad, they just had a white halfmoon and a totally beautiful white Crowntail that were both beautiful and on eBay at the same time I got Marty Jr. and they were in their store to Buy Now (not at Auction). Have you let them know that you want one so they can get it for you?

Here is one that they have on for sale tomorrow...

Wow, Rose very beautiful. I do believe you are right. The folks at Miami Aquariums certainly do spoil them rotten. RJ has the same disposition Marty Jr. does, although he does let me get pics of him. I think that's the conceited side of him though. I have to post some new ones of RJ. His colors have changed a bit as he grows. Natalie

Don't let me wife see that handsome red! She wants a red next, but I want a white.. I plan to contact them when we have a tank for Cloud (my name for the white male) - but we have to find money & space for another tank.. although i'm so tempted anytime I see a white male.

Why don't you just divid the tank #1 in your sig? There is nothing in there besides one betta according to what you have.

Tank #1 has Alexander a Halfmoon Betta, 2 Otocinclus catfish and 4 Dwarf Loaches and is only 12 gallons so it is full to the gills. Tank # 3 is the one almost empty tonight as the Otocinclus catfish and Betta died today and I am getting Yo-Yo Loaches to kill the snails before I get another Betta to put in there with a couple more Otos and then that tank will also be full. I am trying to give each of the Bettas 12 gallons to swim about in but the tanks are full to overflowing.

Rose

I believe that I have a reservation on the red as I spoke to Javier tonight after Blaze died.

I had about a thousand pond snails come in with plants and keep multiplying. I removed all I could get to with all the water changes but the last weel or so my changes have only been one time a week instead of two. (blast it) and the snails attached to his long fins and weighted him down and he could not swim to the surface I believe and he drowned. The otos had trouble getting to their food as the snails would cover the wafers and not let them get the wafers and I was dropping 5 or 6 wafers all over trying to get them some food but it was heartbreaking seeing the little otos trying to pull the snails off the wafers so they could eat but they had gone without food too long and they died. I had just not watched them close enough.

:'(

I am getting YO-YO loaches as Gunnie told me she feeds hers snails so she knows they eat them and those things are getting out of my tank. I have had it seriously. And no more real plants of any kind in my tanks unless I know the source well. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Aslan's become my wife's favorite & she wants him to have the tank to himself plus we've been fighting fin rot in his tank.. Sora's tank is a possibility though for dividing, now that he forced us to find a home for his 4 cory cats literally hours before we left on a trip but I'm still uncertain on dividing it or waiting to get a separate tank for Cloud and putting some Ottos in with Sora. I have time to think about it though, since this trip kind of wipes out the fish budget for the month. I have to get that sig updated.. lol, been forgetting to do that while on vacation.

That red is a handsome Betta and we wish you the best with him Rose. Death to the pond snails!

He looks really nice Rose. You sure can pick 'em. Glad to have you back btw. *online hugs* I have the same problem with Ribbon, who won't stay still.

Gunnie suggested Yo-Yo Loaches and they say they eat snails voraciously and I get 3 in the mail tomorrow. I also get one more Sterba's cory and then next week I get the new betta. His name is Damon (or should it be Demon?) I hear he is sassy!

Gee, I wish I would've gotten a warning about RJ's troublesome personality. I love both names Rose, but if he is a sassy as Javier and his wife say's he is then I think demon would be perfect. Natalie

He will probably settle down as he gets older and settles down and gets to know you. You are actually the food source and he will learn where his bread is buttered at. He will also learn to love the Otos as they will not fight back. He needs a plant or toy to play with. Have you considered floating a ping pong ball. They sometimes have fun with them and you may too and they are light enough he cannot get hurt by it. It will probably have him totally confounded for a few days and then he will play.

Marty Jr. is just a carbon copy of the bigger Marty and it has me happy but he just needs time for the rough edges to be rubbed off. He is about to get a pleco (bristlenose) who is going to be a bit bigger than him and the Sterba's cory is bigger than him so he is going to have a couple fish he cannot chase and bully because they do not care about his little naughty behavior. It may be a revelation. I will have to do a few changes and moves but I have room to do it.

Take care and I wanted to tell you that you made a lovely impression with the folks in Florida. They said you were so kind and they were so happy.

Ping pong balls, hmm? Cool - we will get some of those for our Bettas when we get back to FL. thanks for another great idea.

Aw, that is so sweet of them to say that about me. I totally enjoyed doing business with them and they will have another regular on hand to deal with. You can tell them that for me. He's not a really bad trouble maker or anything, but his personality is so much different from Royell's and Mr. Red's. Probably because is he so young. He definitely knows who I am to him. He has no fear of me at all. He comes to me all the time and as soon as he see's that door open he flies to the top. I may just consider getting a few ping pong balls for him to play with. I can definitely see him playing with one. He's so playful it's so cute to watch. Thanks for the tip and complement. Natalie
