So I have six mollies four females and two males. I haven't noticed the males doing it but my females are pooping solid white string poop and a lot of it. poop does not move and no sunken stomachs. They do have some what big stomachs though. All still active and moving. They are all eating normally. Diet is balanced between bloodworms, omega one flakes and some veggies. My water parameters are ammonia 0, nitrites 0, and nitrates between 20 and 40. I do weekly water changes and have lots of plants to help with nitrates. This all started a couple of days ago. I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Please if any one has any thoughts I would greatly appreciate it.

Don't worry mate, this happens to livebearers sometimes... maybe don't feed them for a day, and then feed some boiled peas without their cover. That should help in digestion : )

Sometimes when livebearers are close to giving birth(1-2weeks away) their poop will turn white and get stringy because of there being little space in their stomach cavity, my platys do this when they are close to having babys, or it could just be a good old case of them eating like pigs.

Thank you. My tank is only a couple months old. This is my second go at the tank game first time I failed. This time I refuse to.

So update even my male mollies are pooping white as well. Any ideas on what else this could be? Should I be concerned? Its making my tank look horrible.

Can we get a picture of what the feces looks like? The first picture you have in the original post looks like healthy poop, you may just be feeding them something that turns their poop white.

I second romannoodles. Poop in the images look healthy. What kind of veggies are you feeding? Whenever I give my crayfish cucumber or zucchini their poop turns pale and translucent for a day or two.

I feed them omega one flakes, blood worms once a week and small pieces of algae wafers once a week and they'll some times eat my corys sinking wafer. The thing is nothing has changed in their diet and the poop just start out of nowhere. I'll try and get better photos of it tomorrow.

Like i said previously all Livebearers (IMO) are pigs and eat like crazy, they may just have slight constipation, just slack off on feeding them, and if you want give them some steamed/boiled peas with no outer husk. thats if you truly are worried, a little constipation isn't bad, just means they healthy and eating like they should.

As far as the peas go to they have to be unsalted frozen peas?

Unsalted frozen works, just make sure they are boiled well.
