My little Man

So a few weeks ago our little boy was diagnosed with a really loud heart murmur and could not do a procedure for him at the hospital without clearance from the cardiologist. So few weeks later We went to see the Doctors and after a few test and sonogram of the heart he was diagnosed with a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) Here is some info on the subject:

So he was scheduled for yesterday to do a Catheter procedure where they basically plug the Blood Vessel that is taking the blood back again to the lungs. So we went with a early woken up boy after dropping the girls at a friends house. This little boy wakes up everyday and drinks milk first thing before getting of the bed. Imagine just drinking apple juice until 730am and nothing until 1230 or so. He was MAD. So anyways they gave him something to calm him down. OMG I never seen a kid on drugs that was funny. He was tripping in ketchup like I say when I see someone that is so drugged that don't know anything about what is going on around them. Anyway we took the little boy all the way to the OR we could see all the monitors and stuff and right there the anesthesia Dr took him from my arms and We went to grab a bite. Little after 1pm the nurse called us to tell us that the dr had the 2 lines needed to work on his heart already in and everything was going great and we were like that was fast. A little after 145pm or so they called us to check the pictures of the procedure and live pics of the devise that was put in place to plug the open artery. It was big. The Dr said that for his age is one of the biggest ones he seen but that everything went perfect no complications and that we should go home in around 5 hours. We got home around 8pm or so after taking some xrays and doing another dose antibiotics at the hospital.

The first and second pics is on the waiting room with his gown. The third and fourth is Gabe on drugs and me laughing at him. He was on some good stuff. They call it Happy Juice. The last pic is on the recovery room after the procedure.

Thanks Ted.

The doctors and nurses at the Wolfson's Children hospital are awesome. The Dr told us that now he will grow more and faster and that he will be eating more too. He is already a eating machine and almost catch up with his older sister.

I know lots of people and cases of kids with terminal illnesses that have recover and live a long lives because of the staff at Wolfson's.

I had to lol at the happy juice,

but unfortunately for my family we had a chihuahua that had a heart murmur and we had to put him down he was only about 7 months old and was one of the tiniest chihuahuas you could have, he was doing okay for a little while but he started having trouble breathing and we had to let him go :'( .

I'm so glad your lil boy recovered I wish Button our dog was as fortunate

Update.

So the day of the procedure the Dr wanted a Chest X-ray to make sure the devise stayed in place and Yesterday afternoon got a call from the Dr to tell us that the devise had shift a bit but that he wanted to make sure with an Echo. So today when back again to the hospital and got it done. About an hour or so the Dr. called us to tell us that it had shifted but not enough to be a problem that by the time we have a follow up the flow to this vessel is probably none. So He said is not concern about coming out. Hopefully the cells will grow around it fast and plug the whole thing.

Good that they don't anticipate a problem. When will they check it again?
