My little cotton sucker.

This is our rescue cat Frodo. We are unsure if he has some Siamese in him as this breed is known for "nursing" on wool and cotton or if he has some sort of OCD. It is highly unlikely that he was removed from his mother too soon which is the number one cause for this behaviour as we got him as a kitten from the RSPCA and he was still with his mother in his care and we were not allowed to take him home until he was of the right age which we had no problem with! His brother doesn't show this behaviour although his brother is a heffalump!

He always wants cuddles and he is a huge drool pot!

Awwwwwwwwwwww reminds me of when my baby bristol wasa kitten! Hed cuddle up and just 'nurse' of your shirt for hours. The kneading got irritating, as did wet shirts... but he was so darn precious it didn't matter! Now he's a grumpy old man who just wants his food and naps.

That cat is too cute!

 

He's about 5 years old now and he has always done that. You wear dressing gowns at your own peril round our way!

I've had several cats over the years that also love to knead and nurse on cotton clothing. Odd, but so cool to watch.

Haha my guys 8 now. Sometimes he snuggles up and acts like he's about to do it but then he just lays down or rubs his head against the spot he picked.

 

It's daft isn't it but he is ALWAYS doing it if you give him a tiny bit of attention you are basically giving him free room to suck your clothes.

 

I have a 1 yr old cat who was taken from mom too early, She was abandoned and brought to me by my son's friends. She doesn't suck on shirts, but will suck on my ear if she gets a chance. She used to do this to everyone, then decided I am mom, so tries to suck on my ear. I have gotten her so she rarely does this any more, but only by pushing her away every time she started doing it. I am not sure if you can get your boy to stop, at 5 yrs old, he's pretty used to getting his way.

He is a gorgeous kitty, though!

 

From the get go we tried to get him to stop by the method you tried it we were worried about him accidentally eating a thread but he is adamant that is what he is going to do! If you do push him away he will just find something else he can suck on so unless you want to walk around naked with no curtains/carpets/blankets... anything fabric then he is going to suck on something!

Edit: You should hear the purrrs that you get from him when he has his blanket though! (I had to mute the above video which was originally of his purrs due to the news story that was on the tv at the time.

 

A 'nursing' kitty is always a happy kitty lol

 

I have a rescue black manx that used to suck on my neck and give me little "kittie hickies". When I made her stop, she started on my arm. But when she started pooping while sucking, I put a stop to it. Now, she just cuddles up in the bend of my arm and buries her head in my arm...

Her name is CAT. Vet's office calls her Mouth. Found her in the middle of a country road, just nearly starved to death. Even down to the black tarry stool that was constant. Vet said it was from eating sticks and leaves. He pronounced her healthy, just hungry. Gave her shots and wormed and set us home. Now, she is around 10 months and rules the house.

She terrorizes my Calico, Keara. Poor Keara is declawed and can't defend her self against long claw CAT. They are doing better the older CAT gets. I try to keep CATs claws trimmed.

Just have to tell you about Keara. Got her just after my husband passed away. She would set on my ample chest and lick my tears when I cried. She still has a special caring attitude.
