So as the title says, the heater in my 20 gallon tank quit. I have already ordered a new one but it won't be here for a week. My question is, how can I keep the water from getting too cold while I wait on the new heater?

Unless your home is unusually cold, I would not worry too much about it. They can make it a week at normal room temperature.

    What heater did you order?

LOL, I could loan you the one from my 55G. It hasn't kicked on since the initial setup. My room temp is 78

Good choice! If you can't wait for it to come in the mail, get it at Petco, when the other one comes in, return it :)
