My Gouramis Are Fighting

Hi,I have a 169 gallon tank with the following:
2 blue spotted gouramis
2 platinum gouramis
1 pangaseas hi-fin catfish
2 angels
1red finned shark
1 long finned rosy barb
3 bala sharks
3powder blue dwarf gouramis
1 pearl gourami
1 khulI loach
1 chiclid
They all seemed very happy with one another until about 3 days ago when I bought the 2 platinum gouramis from my lfs. they are both slightly smaller than my 2 three spotted gouramis but they like to chase them around and nip their fins. THEY also chase my powder blue gouramis around and have started tearing away their fins.They boss all the fish around but don't chase them unlike all my other gouramis(besides my pearl gourami).They seem to be really scared of my 2 angels .they are really ruining my tanks environment please help.They are starting to kill my powder blues.

 

Yeah, maybe you should take it back for a trade.

 

Can you take the platinums back?
If you can't, is your tank planted with lots of line of sight disturbance with either fake or live plants and decorations?
If they are already trying to kill the powders, you might have to rehome them or divide the tank or get them their own tank.

 

Have you quarantined it?

 

I do have lots of plants and disturbances but my powders like being out in the open.No I haven't quarantine them.I can take them back but I really don't want to unless necessary

 

Yank them...Once they start, it's not going to get any better. Sorry.
My success with gouramis has been hit or miss as well. Depends upon the individual fish.

 

Yeah. That's too bad. I would think it would probably work in a tank like that, but some gouramis can be bullies. There's a small chance things could improve, but if fish are getting injured, I think you should intervene with the "big hand from above". Net 'em and take 'em back, before someone gets killed.

 

I think ill take them back and swop them for a pair of other gouarmis any suggestions?
