My Gourami looks like he's wanting my Betta for dinner!!

I have a 15 gallon tank with 1 betta (crowntail male) 1 dwarf gourami and 4 giant danios.
My Gourami is very calm most of the time but when the betta comes close to it, it chases it away. Occasionally the gourami will nip at the betta (if it can catch it-my betta is quite fast)
Just wondering if this is going to be a safe option? or should I look into removing one of the fish into another tank?
Other than that the danios are getting along perfectly with the other fish, gourami can be a little shy sometimes, hiding behind the plants but other than that everything looks good.

All water levels are perfect, I checked them today. Fairly new tank so I haven't done a water change yet. plenty caves and plants, filter with a mild-strong current, and a heater (temp is at 78) Feeding fish flakes, but i'm looking into brine shrimp.

Welcome to the forum!

First off, I would recommend you rehome the DG and your danios. You DG would be much better suited in a 20+ gal as they are highly territorial and aggressive. It may not seem like it right now, but later down the road things may change. The danios will grow to large and need to be in a proper school.

Bettas and gouramis don't get along. They are both labryrinth fish. You are already seeing aggression being displayed by the DG and you will not know when they decide to fight and kill each other. Better be safe than sorry for your fish's sake. The betta alone will be perfect in a 15 gal though!

Do you know about the nitrogen cycle? A tank can not cycle in 8 days. No way. What exactly are your parameters? Are you getting tested at your LFS/petstore? Do they use test strips? Actually show you the results?

Yes I brought in a water sample to test at my LFS and they tested it by a strip. I also have a water testing kit at home (strip again)

I haven't really read up about the nitrogen cycle and the articles I have read on it are a little confusing, so no I don't really know about it.

So do you think I could have any other fish in there with my betta in the 15 gal? If I re-home the other fish? It'd be nice to have more than one fish in the tank.
