I have a common goldfish that has scoliosis so his back is not very straight, but he swims ok (maybe a little weak) but he gets where he need to go. He eats and everything but hes so skinny. He is in a ten gallon, the water is heated to about 78F and has a black telescope goldfish as his tank mate. Why is he so skinny!! Help!!

The tank is way too small and way too warm.

Do you know the parameters?

What do you feed them?

Too warm u say?
I feed them floating goldfish pellets
I have no way of testing the parameters but I can tell you the ph is about 6 or 7 but I change rhe water 50% about once a week .

Yeah, Goldfish are cold water fish who should be kept around 65. You need to do a lot more than just pellets too. I’ve never kept Goldfish at home, so other than the basics, Goldiemom will have more in depth advice.

You really should upgrade them. 10 gallons is not nearly sufficient for a goldfish. If you can't afford a larger (like 50-60 gallon) tank, get a kiddy pool. Goldfish are cold water fish and 78 is way too warm.
