My 3 year old black moor goldfish Seagull looks very unwell. He’s staying on the bottom of his tank and moving very drowsily, s provided. Is this swim bladder? How can I help him?My other goldfish Fingo seems to be fine.
Any help would be appreciated

That doesn’t look good. What are your water parameters?

Normally, fish with swim bladder lay flat on their stomachs, not curled up on their sides. That probably indicates something worse going on, but I’m not quite sure what. If your parameters are normal, I’d recommend isolating him and adding salt to his water.

That looks more like he’s been injured. Is his spine bent? Could he have gotten caught in anything? If this happen quickly I’d say it’s a serious injury. What are your water parameters? Sometimes nitrate poisoning causes such symptoms. Do a 75% water change and give us your parameters.

Fortunately he’s not curled on his side - looks a little dodgy as I took a video, then realised I could only upload s so took a few screenshots at random moments, so I took some whilst he was trying to swim. Still, not good. I’ll have to check the parameters ASAP but we don’t have anything to test with this evening

Let us know when you get them, and do a big water change in the meantime. Clean water is always the best when it comes to helping a fish heal.

Do a big one. Like 75%.
