My Goldfish has a raised white bump that keeps regrowing back!

Hi, I need help. My Ryukin Goldfish, Athena, has grown a white bump towards the midsection of her body, and Ive tried multiple things to get rid of it. The best way I can describe the bump is that it looks like a tiny spitball that you would just about be able to fit into one of those stirring straws/sticks. It is a 29 gallon tank, and it has been set up for about 8 months. During the first 2ish months I was super diligent about getting the tank through the Nitrogen Cycle. I tried my best to do the weekly 25% water change, but I will admit there are some weekends that I forget or outright am just to lazy to do one. When I first saw the bump, I flew right onto my phone to look for treatments/more information on the disease. Many articles and pictures said it was a fungus. So I drove out to my local fish store and talked to one of their employees and he suggests "Triple Sulfa". When I came back from the fish store, I actually noticed that the bump deflated to about 1/4 of its size, but just to make sure I still went through with the full treatment. A week after, the bump is back again! I will be super grateful for ANY advice for me and Athena, and I just really need some help. See the pictures below!!

Water Specifications:

Temp: 68 Degrees F
Ammonia: .25 ppm
Nitrite: .50 ppm
Nitrate: 10 ppm
pH: 7.6-7.8

There shouldn't be any amounts of ammonia or nitrites present. Do you notice any rubbing or flashing? I don't know for sure what it is, but you might want to try treating for parasites. PraziPro is good for treating parasites. Hopefully someone else might have an idea.

When I tested my water yesterday I was super surprised that there were any nitrites and ammonia, because when I tested the water 2 months in to setting up the tank there were none, letting me know that it was cycled. It was just now that nitrites and ammonia have become newly present again. I was reading up a little more last night and some similar cases people suggested melafix, does anyone that have experience with that med think it could help? Also I can look into the prazipro. Thank you for you reply so so much.

I can't believe you have gotten any other responses. How long has the fish had the spot? I would do a partial water change if you haven't already.

I have never used Melafix (treats bacterial) or Pimafix (treats fungal) but I do know the two can be used together. Does it look like a cottony growth? If so I would treat for fungal infection. The triple sulfa you used is used to treat bacterial infections.

If it doesn't appear to be a cotton like growth, I would treat for parasites. PraziPro works well. you can also use API General Cure, it has praziquantel in it.

Ok thank you so much for replying again. It seems to have a defined shape to it, so it does not look very cottony. With prazipro, should I put the goldfish in a qt? I have a small one if needed. Also the fish has had the spot for about 2 weeks. (but deflated for a little bit then came back the second of those 2 weeks)

No need to put the fish in quarantine. Just be sure to remove the carbon from the filter cartridge before treating.
