Right now they are growing out in a 38 but within the next 2 weeks I have a 120 gallon coming.

    Nice! :)

In the 120 will it just be them or other tank mates?

    Sounds great :)

Just them and 2 Apple snails.

Well just goldfish. I am going back to the breeder for another ranchu and 2 fantail.

Filtration is a 155 gallon canister and 4 75 gallon sponges. Also covered the canister intake with a sponge to make maintenance easier

    Sounds great :)

It's good to see someone take good care of goldfish since there will be people with a big group of them in a ten gallon with no filter. They are poop machines so its good to see a lot of filtration. I like to over filter my tanks, e.g. the 55 gallon (That I had gotten yesterday yay!) Will have a 558 gph canister and a 400 gph HOB filter so it adds to nearly 1000 gph of filtration flipping the tank ~17 times an hour. It just is reassuring.

Good luck an did like to see more :)

Yeah I am building my canister just for them. I rely on a lot of biological and mechanical filtration I don’t like to use chemical. I load my canister up with bioballs since as you said these guys put out a lot of waste.

I had to be careful with the amount of water movement. I have veiltails and too much water movement is stressful. Instead I went with the sponges which are much gentler but still aerate the water and provide a place for B.B. and also do some mechanical filtration. I can’t wait to get the tank done and share!!
