I have a glofish tetra that is ready to lay eggs and I put it in a separate container from the other fish and it has been slamming its face into the wall but then stopped and went to the bottom of the container and is just laying there with its gills moving still what does this mean?

It’s stressed. It won’t lay the eggs if it’s stressed. Better to leave it alone and let nature take its course.

I really doubt it’s carrying eggs, it’s probably just bloated. Even if it was and there was no males present, then the eggs would not be fertile.

It’s probably super stressed, leave the lights off for a while.

No they won’t eat it.
