My Fish Is Not Eating

I got a rope fish a little over a week ago. He has not showed any interest in eating. I usually feed my carnivore fish frozen blood worms but my rope fish has showed no interest in eating. When I got the rope fish he was injured at the pet store before I brought him home and he lost a fin. He isn' very active during the day but I have seen him active more during the night and in the early morning. I usually feed at night. Should I try different food? Different feeding time?

Ok so I did a quick read up and it seems they prefer live foods rather than frozen ones, and that some may point blank refuse to eat anything else, at least at first. The websites I looked at recommended meaty live foods. I would say maybe try live blood worms if you can, as they are apparently a favourite.

Well unfortunately after almost 2 weeks of not eating my rope fish died. Thankfully the pet store replaced it and gave me another. The manager said the guy should have never sold me the fish after he dropped it on the floor and that it probably had brain damage. The one I got yesturday didnt eat last night but I assume its because its new to the tank. Where would I get live blood worms? I have only seen frozen ones.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I don't feed any live foods to my fish as I don't have any picky eaters. Your best bet would probably be to ask at your LFS I think. If they don't have any they may know where you can get some.

I would recommend live foods, but maybe Repashy could work too.

You could check the fishing tackle section of walmart or a local fishing store.
