My first fry!!!! :)

Hello!! Woke up this morning and was lucky enough to catch my platy giving birth!! So far I’ve only found 4 fry but I’ve got them in a little hang on basket on the side of my 10 gallon. I’ve never had fry before, so I have a few questions. How long should I leave the mom in my 10 gallon tank/ expect her to be done giving birth? Also at what point should I allow the fry to be free swimming in the 10 gallon.
In terms of food I have golden pearls. It’s a bit difficult to see if they are eating as this powder just disappears in the water when feeding them almost immediately after hitting the water. Plan to feed 3x a day. Am I missing any other important steps or considerations? I talked to my LFS they will take any fry I can’t keep.
Thanks for any help!! I’ll attach a picture of the first fry I found

Congrats to start with...
Feeding newborns on the first day isn't needed. For they will absorb first their yolk sac before they'll be searching for food.

Congrats!
Welcome to the live bearer club. I remember how excited I was when my "Platys" had fry. Looks like your on your way. Golden Pearls should work, you can also grind up some flakes to a fine powder.

Good Luck!

Ok my second pregnant platy gave birth today. So far I have saved 13 fry in total. My question is.. at what point do I take the fry out of the breeding net that I’ve currently placed them in and let them freely roam the 10 gallon grow out tank? They will be the only fish in the tank once I remove this last mother.
Thanks!

As soon as all the other fish are gone I would let them out. As long as the filter flow isn’t too strong they should be fine.

And in terms of keeping any long term in the 10 gallon. How many can remain in a 10 gallon? I’ve got them in there just temporarily and have other tank options I can add them to or put them in but I’ve rather enjoyed having the 10 gallon with a few fish in my bedroom. I would like to potentially keep a few in the 10 gallon... if that’s acceptable habitat for them. Any recommendation would be appreciated!

I would do four max, make sure to only keep males in their permanently. Otherwise there’ll be more fry.

Fry update! Both moms have been removed and put back in their original tanks! I cleaned up the 10 gallon to prepare it for the fry. I ended up with 14 fry total! And just put them all in the 10 gallon with two mystery snails to grow out! Thanks for all the help, I have not lost any babies yet and all seem to be swimming well! Their little eyes are so precious! I’ve attached a few photos of the fry and their current grow out tank!
