My "everything in the house" tank project

    I'm setting up a tank using everything that's already around the house. A "free" set up if you will.
    Tank= 5.5 gallons
    Substrate= dirt from my yard
    Plants= clippings from existing 55g tank

    Free is always good. I was moving stuff around in the tank stands last night and found 3 dual air pumps, tubing and airstones that I don't remember even buying. And somehow I have a trashbag full of fake plants( and no I am not exagerating)... maybe I should set a couple of the small tanks back up.. but what would I put in them? What will go in your tank?

    Should be fun :) Can't wait to see what you come up with this time :photo:

    I have this crazy desire to set up a truly garish/tacky tank... I have tons of spare tanks I could so it with too. Main problem is that I seem to be running out of electrical outlits, and probably shouldn't till my current water problems are fixed :;fim

    Isn't free the best? =D Looks good! Like you planned it all out, and bought what you wanted :)

    Here's the source of my dirt, my backyard. That part of the yard is unwalked on and very rich. I've used it to plant many plants with.

    Lots of earthworms. Hmm, maybe I'll save for my houseplants.

    So whats the Oscomote for, exactly?

    Experiment 1: cut amazon leaf down stem and leaf length wise, add rooting powder, insert in dirt. Add baby spider plant to test soil.

    Well the tank is no more. I started a terrarium, then filled w/ water, then dumped. I broke the tank draining the water. It will become a replacement window for my bathroom this weekend.
