I was doing school and now she is nowhere to be found. I live in Montana. Lots of woods. Her collar was off. Any tips

Oh no! Sorry to hear, I hope she’s found quickly and safely. Start posting her photo and contact information to all the pet sites like petfinder and neighbourhood sites. I’d also call/email the shelters and let them know she’s missing in case they find her. If she has a microchip make sure that’s listed too. I’m sure others will have good ideas too, sending prayers she’s found safely.

I’m so sorry, call her, bring food, ask neighbors...then maybe flyers. Do you have local Facebook page? Is she chipped?

Put up posters around town and offer a small reward if she's gone for more than a few days. A lot more people will pay attention.

I'm so sorry. Hope your baby is found soon.
Along with the other suggestions contact all the vets in the area.

My Mom just found her she had run to my mom's house 20 miles away! She is home safe now and yes she is microchipped and she left because she was chasing a deer.

I’m happy to hear that she’s safe. It must be a relief.

I'm so glad you got your dog back! That's great.

But beware: If the Game and Fish folks catch a dog "running" deer, they will likely shoot the dog on sight. So if you can, you must keep her from being able to get loose and chase wildlife - or livestock for that matter.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks :: Living with Dogs & Cats

"With the exception of using trained or controlled dogs to chase or herd away game animals to protect humans, lawns, gardens, livestock, or agricultural products: "…any peace officer, game warden, or other person authorized to enforce the Montana fish and game laws who witnesses a dog chasing, stalking, pursuing, attacking, or killing hooved game animals may destroy that dog, on public land or on private land at the request of the landowner, without criminal or civil liability." (SB 104, 2001 Legislature)"
