My dog, Forrest

Here he is, the love of my life! Forrest is a Wonder Dog - as in, "I wonder how I ever lived without this dog!?"

And yes, he is named for the immortal Forrest Gump. He is a hybrid - a deliberate cross between an English Crème Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. I have learned that hybrid dogs are like a box of chocolates - you just never know what you're going to get. And take Forrest for example: all his brothers were fluffy, like typical Goldendoodles, but he looks exactly like his Mom - curly and skinny!

He just turned three years old. I didn't want to cram this first post with photos, but I have uploaded some great pictures of having his first Christmas, graduating from puppy class, enjoying his first snow, and being a leeeetle tiny puppy if anyone's interested. Thanks for looking!

He's a cutie. Big difference after the hair cut.

Lol, yes! Some dogs act shy or ashamed when they get a buzz cut like that, but Forrest seems to love the 'lean and clean' look. He prances around and boasts that he's lost five pounds.

Lol, yes, he does! Usually he looks like he does in the top pictures, but when warm weather comes he gets cut very short so that he can go to the lake and swim. When he's fluffy people say, "Wow, what a big dog!". As you can see, he really isn't. He's all air and hair.

How cute!

It must be hard to keep him brushed without the haircut.

Did you know we have a section for dog photos?
Feel free to post as many as you like there or, of course you can post them here in your thread.

Yes it is! His hair is so wooly, it clumps and matts pretty badly. That's actually why his haircuts are so extreme - his hair is so dense and so wooly, none of the clipper combs can go through it, even when he's completely brushed out. I use a steel comb, a slicker brush, and a wooden bristle brush (tip from the groomer - wooden bristles don't pull the hair).

Ooh, thanks! I love to share a few more pics of him!
