all those cooooloooors.... *drools*
I honestly don't have many, but heres what I have. My fishroom consisted of various tanks in my room on homemade "rack" type stands.
40 Breeder top, 30gal bottom
55gal pairing tank
20gal on left, 15H on the right, added another 15H beside that one but not pictured.
1 side of the room. Saltwater on top middle. Discus breeding tanks on the far left with room for more! And growout and QT tanks on the right.
Various pics

Mine actually had them for a while (80$ a fish mind you)My favorites first, High Body Tiger Snakeskins. You won't find these in your LFS I guarantee you!
Thanks Tony. Theres always room for more!
Any discus would look good in the tank mike! Haha (I'm secretly trying to create as many or more discus keepers on this board as betta keepers) Oh I guess the cat is out of the bag now...
But discus ARE cichlids! hehe
I know But I would need a big tank designated just for them Because can't put them with the africans. okey:
Ok Ive been thinking about a Discus tank, now them pictures have knocked me off the fence, unfortunately there isn't much to choose from in this area, and the ones Ive seen don't look anywhere in as good as condition as yours. Thanks for posting them pics.
Ok I just read that ya wanna get more discus people on the board, count me IN lol...I have a tank that would suit them just fine soon as I get these Mollies tank going and get them outta my new Discus tank lol..
How many could ya keep in about a 50 gallon corner tank?
What are the best water parameters for discus?
What are your water parameters, if they differ from what books and other say they should be?

I can't help ya fight the urge lol them empty tanks sure need some water and fish so the silicone doesn't dry rot and crumble out lolSlug-you're grounded! And every one of your enablers that are asking questions as well
I've been working quite hard at ignoring the existence of discus. I've tried using the "they're expensive" excuse, the "Ph not right" excuse, the "pristine water conditions" excuse.
I feel myself caving. Someone save me! I have empty tanks!

That is so cool. What kind of rocks were those? I got mine at a landscaping place.
Hey Slug I'm in Sumter actually just more south east of there about 7 miles and I just found a up and coming breeder right here in Columbia right here on Fish Lore boards lol lol
Have ya seen the Discus at the pet lovers warehouse across from the VA hospital? Those are some of the few Ive seen and they look bad and they looked pretty skinny actualy really skinny like they hadn't eaten...
for sure ya have some awsome looking fish and they look healthy....Is there a reason that you have no substrate? or is it just easier to keep clean?
Thanks again for posting such awsome pics....Ya got me hooked lol
Slug, those white discus are amazing Your african show tank was pretty dang amazing too I know the feeling though. I tore down my african tank to make more room for my SA cichlids. If you don't mind me asking, who in CalI do you get your discus from? I have been looking for a good place to buy discus near me and haven't found a place I am thrilled with yet.
Thanks
I get them from a guy named Kenny of Kenny's Discus. He is located in Daly City up by San Francisco. Not sure how far that is from you, but he's worth checking into I promise. If you can't visit him you should at least see how much shipping would be, I'd think it'd be much cheaper being in state. If you want more contact info let me know.
Inland Empire Discus is in Rancho Cucamonga CA, never bought from them but from my understanding they specialize in more of the fry size.
