My Cory Is Swimming Upside Down!

I came down stairs to my 40 gallon tank and saw that one of my Corys appeared to be stuck under my fake driftwood. I lifted up the wood and the fish was upside down. I have put it in a Tupperware. Once I get the fish upright, it seems to stay but doesn’t swim. Any thoughts?

Thank you for summoning someone!

I removed the fish from the Tupperware and put it back upright because I thought it was cruel to have it there’s.

We may have a winner! Sometimes he gets off balance, but he uses his spikey side fins to get upright and or stabilize. Any other ideas for long term help?

I've had something similar happen with one of my peppered corydoras. I treated with erythromycin and it seemed to take care of the problem. You'd need to treat in a separate container.
Best of luck!

Is it an oil? Or fish meds?

It's a med. You might be able to find API erythromycin at a petstore.

Hoping he is alive. Hard to say how much damage is done.

He passed overnight. At least he isn’t suffering anymore.

The question is, can 5 Corys life together? Or do I need another?
