I looking at my cory this afternoon and it looks like he has ripped out his whiskers around his mouth. He seems to being eating but his mouth looks kind of weird.

What do you all think could have happened?

Will they grow back??

Do you think he will be ok?

Many times if your gravel is too rough, the cories will have there barbels (whiskers) worn off from scaveging the bottom. I believe they do have the ability to regrow them, but he will probabbly just keep wearing them off.

These don't look like they were worn off there are little places where they used to be. Could he have got them hung in something and pulled them out??
Thank you replying so quickly. I'm really worried about him. Can he eat ok with out them?

Sorry for all the questions at once. I just love him and worry about him.

Hi ayelie, I'm sorry your cory is worrying you.
Is your aquarium information up to date?
Have you tested for ammonia nitrites and nitrates?

Thanks everyone.

As for eating when I feed flakes tonight he was eating them with the guppy before they got to the rocks so I guess he figured it out for himself.

thanks again for the replies
