My Cat Family

Catappa

I already introduced my dog in the dog thread. I am owned by five neutered male cats that are all indoor cats. I had a bad experience many years ago when there was a cat poisoner in the street I lived in back then and decided I would only keep indoor cats after that. My cats have lots of climbing and scratching posts and toys. These are all pedigreed cats. When I was younger, I always had moggies, but later in life, I have decided on specific breeds for their personalties, traits and looks.

No guilt, as we don't have a stray animal problem in the Netherlands and don't have kill shelters!

In order of their ages, from oldest to youngest:

Kirmizi is a white, amber-eyed Turkish Angora. He is the only "rescue" cat. I got him as a kitten from a Dutch breeder who, along with some other breeders here and in Germany, rescued the cats and kittens owned by a very prominent and respected breeder. He had a psychosis and he and his cats were discovered neglected in his home and his and the cats' situation was life-threatening. He was taken in for care and the cats and kittens were nursed back to health and adopted out. Kirmizi is very beautiful and is best friends with his Leonberger dog brother. He was also best friends with the two previous Leos.

Nanki-Poo is a sealpoint Thai (European old-fashioned type Siamese). He is now nearly completely deaf.

Chaos is a black smoke Turkish Angora.

Caro Mio is a red-point Nevada Masquerade Siberian Forest Cat and McDreamy is his blue-point brother.

They are all very beautiful and very sweet-natured, affectionate and playful.

I have several friends who are severely allergic to cats, but NOT to my Siberians! They can cuddle them as much as they want and NO reactions!

Really beautiful cats! I currently own one cat. She was a stray that wandered into my yard during a blizzard and subzero temperatures -20 degree F (-28 degrees Celsius) here in Michigan. Her name is Lyra because it is the constellation of the harp in the night sky. She does not stop "harping" me for food a lot. She definitely has a good appetite!
PS: She reminds me of Puss in Boots when she makes this face...

Thank you! She is the sweetest little thing and wants to cuddle with me all the time! I don't know how anyone would give up such an amazing cat, (she was spayed when I got her).

What a lovely cat! She has a beautiful expression. I really like the way you named her.

Note: I rarely say that I own my pets -- I feel they own me, lol. When asked if she has pets, a friend of mine says she is a can-opener for several cats.
