I don't see oto as being dangerous, but they will eat the most available algae, whichI what fry are struggling to find.
competition over predation.

Great...well the last batch have almost all died, there might be one or two alive in the 30. Right now dad is corralling about 40 wigglers inside the shell and there are about 10 wigglers outside in teh 30G tank where they were born.

So now I just have mom and dad, babies, 6 cardinal tetras, 5 harliquin rasboras, 6 rummy-nose tetras. Tank water parameters are perfect. I do weekly 20% changes and bi-weekly substrate cleaning. The Fluval 206 is well established and I'm using Seachem Pruigen pack as well. One thing I noticed about the last batch is that they seem to have bloated abdomens?

Just today I notice ich on the cardinal tetras...ugggg! So question, should I slowly raise temp to about 84/85 and use the aquarium salt method to treat or just leave it alone?

Thanks,
Roy

Very true, they are a scaleless fish. They have more of armored plates I'd say.

Slowly raising temp to 85 at this point in time. I do have Bifuran + but I've read don't raise temp and medicate at same time because of oxygen. I have very good surface agitation and a large air stone and big air pump making lots of bubbles. I guess it's a waiting game from here on out.

Quick update...after about 6 batches we are producing. We have 7 that are now 2" long and about 30 that are 1/2" long. We found just leaving them alone is best.

I've never separated mine and have had more survivors than I know what to do with. Daddy Paz fooled me and has spawned with one of his daughters. If you're short of babies I can send you about 100 Josey, on the other hand (long-fin), is a dolt and has messed up two spawns, though a couple of wigglers at least survived hatching somewhere in the 45g. He gets one more chance and if he messes up again he's off to the LFS!
