My Bettas Pothos Hammock

My Bettas has had a swim bladder disorder for about a year and a half. The poor thing can barely swim. I got tired of seeing him on the sand so put this Pothos plant in. He immediately started using it as a hammock.

that's a really cool idea. the only problem is that potho underwater will root and cause problems with the water quality.

you could have the vines underwater, am sure the betta will rest on it and enjoy swimming through it.

I think he meant Rot not Root. The roots underwater are fine but the leaves themselves need to be above the water. Alison

I like the way you've set up the spray bar! I could imagine that it could cause too much current for him. Agree with the others about the pothos leaves under water. An easy, fully aquatic plant with similarly shaped leaves is Anubias though!

Actually, pothos is one of the few land plants that some of the leaves can be below water and not rot and not turn yellow and die. Most of my pothos I do keep the leaves above the water but he needed the support and anubias leaves are too small.

Actually its a super soft and gentle spray bar which is why I bought it. Its a Tom minI internal filter 45gph with the optional spray bar. The spray itself is adjustable too, direction and intensity.

Get the variety called 'Coffeefolia', you'll wonder how there's room for the water

Good to know about the pothos though, most other plants would rot. Going to have to try it myself now!
