My Betta Jumped

My halfmoon plakat is a jumper, he scared the **** out of me once. I noticed when I would feed him that he would jump out if the water just a little bit but one time he jumped out of his tank off the desk and onto the floor. I immediately put him back in the tank but I was freaking out for a while but he just swam around like nothing happened.

Yeah. They jump
Do you have a lid on your tank? What are your water parameters like? Not saying that your water is bad or anything, they can just jump to jump

Yeah that tank had a lid but I lifted it for feeding him and it was only a 2 gallon (this was before I knew what I do now), now that I have moved him to a 10 gallon he does like to jump a little when feeding but never enough to jump out just little splashes.

One of my rescue bettas like to jump a little whenever I open the top of their jar to do a water change or to feed and he sometimes flicks water at me.

Yes, they are known to jump when you least expect it, never underestimate a betta's jumping abilities, they will find a way to surprise you.
