My betta is very confident?

Helloo!

I just wanted to ask a quick question.

My new betta has been doing very good so far. There hasn't been any alarming behavior, and I hope it continues to go that way. He blew a partial bubble nest yesterday and I was shocked because I didn't know he was that comfortable. The only weird thing I noticed was him swimming close to the glass a lot. He doesn't glass surf but plays with his reflection, yet doesn't flare at the same time. Weird..?

My question --> is my betta just very trusting? I was re-arranging décor and put my hand into the tank so close to him, and he didn't even budge lol. Then the previous day during feeding time, I put my finger in the water and he was staring at it for a long time before swimming away. ---> He also followed my finger a few times across the glass. I'm thinking that he just likes me a lot.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

I’ve only had my betta since September, but all that seems normal to me. :). They are extremely personable and interactive.

My betta is the same way, he very curious and completely unafraid of my hands. Although mine also used to bite my finger and jump during feedings when I first got him (I feed pellets with my finger one at a time). Definitely had to teach him NOT to jump lol. Bettas are smarter than people realize and are very curious, interactive fish.

When I first got him, I thought that he would immediately start hiding and continue to be skittish but that wasn't Achilles. =)

Mine was never skittish either. First thing he did when I got him in his tank was explore every inch of it lol!

My betta is the same way...he loves to look at himself, but now that he is a bit older and has hit that sexual maturity level, he has started really flaring at his own reflection. I had to line 2 of the walls on the inside of the tank with Indian almond leaves to put a stop to that behavior (well, it kinda works..:) ).

Every betta is different, and that really makes keeping them a real trip! You never know what you are going to get when you bring them home!

I think he's just curious and probably just happy! Mine is the same way and loves to chase my fingers. (He even likes to take a few bites at my hands when I'm changing the water lol) They're just very full of personality and fiesty!
