He has one Popeyes and some contusions around his face. I believe he got stuck somewhere, la log he can swim though is probably the culprit so I removed it.
But now I want to treat him! His water is super clean, I change a third every 3 or 4 days and I take very good care of him. Yesterday all I could see is a Popeyes and a little bit of red on the left side of his nose so I gave him a 10 minute bath in aquarium salt water, he didn’t mind it and swam around a bit. I picked him out of his aquarium using just my hand to put him in the bath because he is very familiar with my hand but not with a net. This morning he looks a lot worse and is showing his contusions.
What can I do to help him. Continue the baths or not? Do I need to buy medications? Is he going to be ok? Please help.

You should up the temperature and I would add aquarium salt straight to the tank. I wouldn't medicate if you believe it's just an injury. Are there any other inhabitants?

I have cherry shrimps in there with him And some pest snails. His aquarium is heavily planted which is why I didn’t put salt in it, but I don’t mind taking out the important plants and putting them in one of my other aquariums in the meantime if its better for him. He is the important one in there, everything else can be replaced.
The temperature in there is 26 C, how high should it be to help the healing.

Up it 2 degrees if you can, put that's probably fine. And if your not comfortable putting salt in the tank then don't. I know most plants are salt tolerant at low doses but it's entirely up to you. Mainly keep the water clean and stable and just keep an eye on your fish's injury to make sure it doesn't get worse. It should just heal normally. If it changes you'll need to reevaluate.

I would also add some Indian almond leaves or catappa leaves, or brew a cup of organic rooibos tea using treated tank water and add slowly to the "hospital" tank, or add anything to make the tank water tannin-rich (tannin extract or alder cones). It will help with his stress, and it will help to stave off bacterial and/or fungal infections.

And frequent water changes to keep the water pristine.

Hope he gets better soon!!! :)

Thank you both very much.
-35% water change done
-added 2/3 of tbs aquarium salt
-almond leaves added and alder cones added

He came up to eat twice, he had 4 of the small bug bites In all. Will try some daphnia later tonight but he doesn’t eat much of those.

things are good for the moment but he is having trouble seeing, of that I’m sure. I will continue the daily water changes and keep him as comfortable as possible. I really love Leo and he was also a birthday gift from my husband.

It's good he's eating, and the almond leaves are definitely a good idea. Good luck , let us know how it goes.

This story is going to end well. :)
Leo is doing much better today and is going to get well.
Even though is eye is still swollen, he’s his old self again. He chased my hand while I was changing some of his water, he’s even started building a bubble nest.
Thank you both for the help and moral support when I needed it. :)
