I’ll do my best to keep this short-
I have been away the previous 3 days. I purchased a new Betta on Monday and he has been in quarantine since, with my Green Neon Tetras. I put live daphnia into the tank before leaving for the fish to hunt down.
I left my Betta with a slight tear in his tail. This seems to have healed. I put an IAL in before leavingbut now a larger rip seems to have occurred while I was away. I use remineralised RO with a cycled sponge filter so parameters are not an issue.
My Betta was housed with Neons at the LFS and got along fine, I also have seen no problems since keeping them all in qt. I am leaning towards this being a case of tail biting, since my qt is so boring.
How should I proceed? Tomorrow is a week since purchase and I see no illnesses in any fish. I could either move everyone in to my 45L community tank which is empty right now, or I could isolate my Betta in qt and treat with API salt.
