I got her today from my lfs ( who is closing after 47 years in 2 weeks! )

Last week when I went there, they had a tank full of babies ( these were born in Sept ) and now today, only 5 left!
Glad I was able to get one! They breed and raise them at the store.

    My son named her, "Angel"
Very peaceful - no one bothers her and she doesn't bother anyone.......

Thank you. She is super tiny but I wanted one that size so that way theres no aggression toward the tetra's, etc. So far, none of the other fish even seem interested in the new girl in town! She is not interested in meeting any new friends either!!! ;)

Congrats on the new angel! She may be tiny now, but her size and her attitude will develop and grow over time. When she is larger and her patterns develop then we can determine which type of marble she is....if interested.

How long does it take for them to get full sized? I guess there's more than one type of marbles? ??? This is my first Angel :)

Oh, there are many, many types of marbles!! There is your basic marble, gold marble, silver marble, blue marble, paraiba marbles, smokey marbles, etc. The list is endless! I suspect you have a gold marble or a silver marble; but he is too small to judge how the colors will develop into adulthood.

At dime size, you little guy is around 3 months. On high quality food you can expect him to double in size each month, more or less. They grow very fast at this age! They are referred to as adult once their body size becomes silver dollar sized; and become sexually mature around 9 months.

These time estimates are not exact as angels will grow and mature at their own speed....just like our kids.

Thanks for the info. I will be at the lfs again this week so I will be sure to ask. Right now she is mainly gold and black and a few white markings. And she was born in September.
