My ammonia took a small jump.

Hey everyone, my ammonia levels took a small jump, did a fishless cycle on my 10 gallon tank and then just got my Betta for it but today when I tested my water I saw my ammonia was at 75 ppm and I just did a 50% water change and added some prime to make sure everything will be okay for the night.

Did the ammonia just increase because I now have a real fish that is producing more then just a piece of raw shrimp?

    Thanks everyone.

Also my Nitrate levels remain at 10 and my Nitrite levels are 0

It shouldn't have jumped that quickly.
Did you change the water and use prime right before you added your betta?

Sorry for the late reply, but no I just acclimated the fish through the drip method then I put him right in the tank, but today when I did the water change I added the prime right before I put him back in the tank.
