I wouldn’t how long have you had them. Could just be stress. How do they look. How everything in the tank? Is it a qt tank?

I've had them since this Sunday so about 5 days. All the other fish in the tank seem fine.

Not QT.

May just be stress. Going from wholesaler to pet shop to your tank may have been to stressful to those that died. Did the dead fish show sickness? Fin rot ,fungus white or red spots? How do the last 5 look?

two s are pretty characteristic of what I've found. They were at the LFS for about a week before I added them to my tank. I've check them every night to see if there was any that were struggling and all seemed fine.

They look fine so I’d say stress unforunatly this happens. Sometimes the ph from lfs to your tank or temp or many other simple things could have done it. Will your lfs refund you?

****. I was hoping it was something else. Is there a better way to acclimate these guys to avoid this?

I acclimate by leaving the bag in the water and adding tank water every 15min for about an hour. Than scoop them out. Don’t put the bag water into tank.

That's similar to what I did. I use airline tubing to add a drop of water ~ every second. I do this for about 2 hours

Yeah can’t do it better than that. Like I said it’s just stress that did them in. But a qt tank is something to think about.

I plan on doing one from now on. Would a QT have helped in this instance though since it was just shock?

Probably not. Because it was shock but if it was something else it could have takin out the whole tank. For qt all you need is 5 gal tank.

I plan on from now on. I 've got an 18 gallon tub I'm going to use with some extra filter media. Only thing I"ll need is a heater.

So I thought I was through the woods with my current rummys, but found one dead the morning.

I thought maybe my Waters lack of kh was allowing for pH swings, so I added crushed coral.

I'm still totally lost as of what could be doing this.

It does seem that rummynose can be pretty sensitive when added to new tanks. It hasn't been that long since you've added them, so it could still be related to stress and stress-related illnesses, I think.
