Here is a picture of my tank when it was first set up back in
August, followed by two pictures of the tank taken today. It has changed so much in just a few months.

Thanks nibog!

The floating plant is water lettuce that I was given by my uncle from his pond. I started with three and now have a ton! It grows so quickly I have to throw some out every few days.

remove the CAE and youd have plenty of room they aren't too hard to catch you just have to outsmart it

Well there is a space behind my driftwood ornament that he runs to every time I try to catch him. It's like his cave. I can't move the ornament because of the plants that I have planted in it. I am going to try trapping him again in the morning. Maybe I'll catch him this time!

Success! I finally caught him! I went to my LFS and bought a bigger net and just let it sit in the tank with an algae wafer and when he got in I just lifted him out. He is in a critter keeper until tomorrow afternoon when he will be going to my LFS. I really don't want to take him to a store but they take good care of their fish. He seems a bit stressed but I think he will be okay for the night.

Are you sure the floaters aren't amazon frogbit? Nice job catching the CAE, by the way

That's a lovely tank! Love your stock, too. The driftwood is very perfect in that setup!

Thanks for the compliments!

dannyboy: Hmmm now that you mention it it kinda looks like amazon frogbit but the leaves kinda look like water lettuce. I will have to figure out what they are. Thanks for the info!

everything zen: The driftwood is actually an aquarium decoration from Petsmart. I wish it was real.

It looks so real! Still looks fantastic. if it were real, it's the kind of piece of wood you'd never get rid of!
