My 10 Dollar Aquarium Stand Cover.

Hello all. My metal frame stand was looking pretty ugly with exposed wires and equipment etc. A d.i.y. wood cover would have been pretty easy to do but I live in an apartment without a workspace to do it so I just bought this table cloth for $10. Measured it out and cut it to size and stuck it to my stand with some magnets I had laying around. I need to wash and iron it out to smooth out the wrinkles but otherwise I think it gives my set up a pretty clean look now!

 

I think it looks great! Nice tanks too.

 

Looks good. I used elastic to make a "dress" for one of my stands but I didn't have a lower tank.

That's a wonderful idea! Question. I have a similar stand for my 29G, do you know if it can support the weight of a 10 gallon below it? Seems like that's what you did with your stand?

 

Thanks. At the end of the day it's just a piece of cloth. But for 10 dollars and 10 minutes to put together it's a world of difference compared to the mess of wires and tubes exposed before.

As long as all four corners of the tank are touching the base it will be fine. I have a 20 long underneath this stand made for a 55 gallon and it fits just right. So I'm not positive about a 10 gallon it depends on the dimensions. I'm sure it will support it, but it's most important that all 4 corners of the tank are touching/sitting on the support bars.
