You have some wonderful fish, but I am not sure what you want. Help rearranging your fish?

Yea. i had it all figured out wheb it was supposed to be a 40 breeder but now that its a 30 breeder it changes stuff.

What type of loach do you want? that can be a factor in tank stocking.

  5. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

    kuhli or yo yo

  6. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

i was thinking of doing this.
10 gallon- 6 celestrial pearl danios, 3 male endlers, 2 killfish
    30 gallon- 2-rams, 10-cherry barbs, 1- bristlenose, 3-6-swordtails.
    29 gallon- 2-angelfish, 6- loaches or corys
20 gallon- 1-electic blue crayfish, 6-bluntnose minnows(they're more of just feeder fish)
55- BP, firemouth, cutteri cichlid, congos, synos, bristlenose\
i stock more on the heavy side bc im very dilegent with water changes (been doing daily on a couple of my tanks), and i over filter. i also make sure to stock plants according to the fish (ex floating plants and lilies for cichlids, dense plants for shy fish, etc.).

Well I would think you could pull off the following

    55gal
5 angels you will REALLY have to watch this.
    10 Cherry Barbs
    1 BN Pleco
You Synos thou I think 3 might be pushing it a bit

    30 breeder
    Swordtails with fry
    Corys
    1 BN Pleco
    3 Honey Gourami

    29gal
Blood parrot as a small grow out tank
    6 or so kuhli loaches
    Blunt nose minnows
Congo Tetras thou this might be a bit of a stretch with the BP

    20gal
    Endlers
    CPD's
    Some more cories possibly

and then put the Crayfish in his own 10gal tank.

I think you can make that work thou its a bit dicey, the BP makes it hard as well as keeping that many angels with the tanks you have.

wont mine work? im not keeping all 5 angels. just 2.

I think adult congo tetras would kill each other in a 29. They definitely need to be in the 55 to have room to swim and out maneuver each other.

IME a 10 is too small for a regular crayfish. They try to escape - a few succeeded. I've never observed them trying to escape from larger tanks.

yup I like yours a lot better, I thought from your initial post that you wanted to keep all 5 if possible. The 29 is the bare minimum for 2 thou so just watch for aggressions issues.

ok would loaches or corys be better in the 29 or should i just put them in the 30 and move a bristlenose to the 29? i think theres enough floor space in the 20 breeder for 2 rams, a britslenose, and some corys plus ill have an aquaclear 70 on it with a lot of plants.

  12. pirahnah3 Fishlore VIP Member

Corys, loaches and BN pleco would all get along just fine. I had Corys with my khulis and they didn't bother each other at all.

  13. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

i was asking if they loaches or corys should go in the 29 or 30 and if the 29 which would be better?

  14. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

if you had the choice which would you choose?
    1. 30 gallon breeder with chip in bottom front corner and broken black rim.
    2. 30 gallon standard (i think) with no cracks but isnt a wide tank and will fit my stand weird.
    3. 40 gallon breeder with chip

  15. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

i think a 30 gallon standard would be better than a breeder for this wouldnt it? so i was thinking this would work.
    30 gallon- 2-rams, 10-cherry barbs, 2-angels, 3-6-swordtails.
29 gallon- electric blue crayfish, 6- bluntnose minnows.
    20 gallon- 6-CPDs, 3- male endlers, 2 killifish, 10- kuhlis or 6-corys, 1 bristlenose.
55- BP, firemouth, cutteri cichlid, congos, synos, 1-bristlenose
i really want the 40 but it has a crack :(

  16. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

    ignore my last 2 posts.

  17. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

could i put corys in the 30 and kuhlis in the 29? or would that be too much. ill just do 3 male swordtails in the 30, and i can put the other bristlenose in the 29.

  18. Jaysee Fishlore Legend Member

    30 - angels, cherry barbs, kuhlis/corys, BN
29 - crayfish, minnows, golden wonder killis
    20 - rams, CPDs, endlers

  19. allaboutfish Well Known Member Member

i didnt think rams could go with CPDs and the 30 is a breeder, and the killis arent golden wonder, they are gardneri biassa. i might be getting a 40 (i know this is getting confusing with all the mights). the guy is selling one for 35 but he just stopped texting me. hopefully he'll text me tomorrow and i can go get it. if not ill test the 30 breeder that ive used silicone on and if it leaks i will get the 30 that i found for 20.00.
