Multiple Filters + Seeded Media

I’m wanting to get multiple tanks after I move. I’m planning on setting up each tank with one powerful filter and a 10 gallon sponge filter. This way I can exchange some filter media between tanks to jumpstart the cycle. Is this a sensible plan? Will the beneficial bacteria in the sponge filter result in propagation of bacteria in the other more powerful filter, or will it be unable to migrate?

Yes. Perfect idea for seeding tanks to allow bacteria to grow. It grows all over the tank on many surfaces over time and either filter option will deliver.
