Multiple betta tank

Last year I bought a female betta and recently I've been looking into breeding her. I'm new to aquariums and fish but I've always wanted to do a big tank. I'm wondering how many fish I can put in a 10-20 gallon tank at once. Also proper lighting and anything else that may be a problem. I haven't been able to find any posts elsewhere that tell much and I really don't want to mess it up. Please help

Are you looking to do a betta sorority? Breeding Bettas is VERY hard on your wallet and more importantly the fish. I'll leave that to more experienced people to explain.

See, when I went to the pet store to ask questions all he told me was have two females or more and a ten gallon tank. It'd be easy and shouldn't take long. He didn't seem to say much else but he did stress that I had a big enough tank.

What that guy said is not true at all. If you want a sorority you need a 20 gallon minimum. A 10 gallon doesn't have enough room to escape from any angry betta if that ever happens. Also breeding betas is veryyyyy expensive. You will need 500+ jars. Also he said you only need 2 females to breed? That's not true at all

You could keep two females in a separated 10G but not together and certainly not a sorority.
You can look under the "breeding Bettas" section and it has a very detailed description
