Mts Without Cover

I’m thinking of picking up a small tank just to grow plants in, and I’d like to have some Malaysian trumpet snails in there as well (I like snails). Will they be OK in a tank without a cover, or do they ever climb out and die on the floor?

all snails can climb out but generally won't if the parmeters are good

Ive never had an mts leave the water (though my mysteries and nerite occasionally do). Even if they do climb out onto the floor, they can survive for days without water, so just plop them back in if you find any.

Ah, good! Thank you for the info. I just like the idea of having a tank without a cover, but not at the expense of the snails.
