Moving with a betta

Hi!

So tomorrow I am moving across town (not far at all, maybe a 15min drive), and I am wondering what would be the best way to transport my betta and his ten gallon tank. As of right now, I am planning to put the filter cartridges, and plants into containers with some of the tank water. I will keep the gravel in the tank with a small layer of tank water inside with it. And I will be putting my betta into a sealed container with some old tank water as well.

Does this sound like the best way to do it? Let me know if you have any better ways of doing this, or if you have any tricks/advice that could make the move less stressful for the fish. Any suggestions will help!

Thank you!

Yep, that's basically how I've done it every time I've had to move. Worked out well for me.

Should defiantly work out fine. I did this for my 16g with neons and a honey gourmai but with a drive of an hour and a half. Just make sure to acclimate when you put them back in the tank since its mostly new water. Also don't make the mistake I made of adding the water before de-chlorinating, killed off some BB, went through a mini cycle.

What I did was I left the real plants in the substrate with an inch of water in the tank and bagged the fish and set them in the tank. At least it looked like they were in their main tank. Had no sickness issues after moving.

oh i personally wouldnt have done that bc the bag would move around too much and didnt the plants get moved around a lot? i would think as the car moves the sunstrate adjusts undoing the roots on the plants a little

I pushed the decor around them so they didn't move. They didn't move during travel so it worked well for me at least. A few of my plants were rooted and I didn't want to un-root them just to re-plant. It was fairly easy and worked decently well. The only plants that got moved were the ones that didn't have their rhizomes planted like anubis and java fern.
