Moving ramshorns - is there a best way?

Nefersmum

My ramshorns have excelled themselves. I started with 5 blue and now I have just about a rainbow of colours and far more than I really wanted.

I have been destroying pods of eggs when I can but I dislike the idea of killing the actual snails so I decided to move a load to my snail only tank.

Is there a best way of doing this or will a simple 'pick and plop' method be okay (I suspect not)

I'd be glad of any advice.

Thanks

I just drop them from my breeder straight into brackish for my puffer and what he dosnt eat carry on their way so I don't think it makes a difference

I do the "pick and plop". I tried being more gentle, but it didn't seem to affect them either way.

Agreed, pick and plop, even if the new water is colder they still survive.

Ramshorns are tough little guys. They will survive being dropped into the snail tank, no problem.

My 2c when doing the picking, if they don't want to let go, give them a gentle nudge/twist, or make turbulence with your finger toward them and they will usually let go.

Thanks everyone. Guess what I'm going to be doing tonight
